The UFP & Zargah stumble into a war with the Essence Ancients over time travel technology that the UFP discovered on their old home planet called Essence. Argie. Pre-industrial planet Humans discovered in 2025. It is similar to Earth. It is declared a protectorate & forms part of the Peace Protection Zone (PPZ) Australis. Planet discovered by Humans in 2002. Earth like conditions, although about the size of Mars. Key feature is a continent that remarkably resembles Australia on Earth. Discovery 2 contacts the Avakous physically in 2174. A rather peaceful race of 6 billion spread over four habitable planets. They are a member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Avakous Sector. That region of space that was Avakous territory prior to joining the United Federation of Planets. Bain. Ex-slave race from the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Barrens. Arid habitable planet discovered by Humans in 2010. Never popular with immigrants. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). BigEar. Project to detect & locate signals over extremely long distances throughout the galaxy. BigMouth. Project to transmit signals over extreme distances, at unprecedented speeds, between planets & vessels equipped with the required equipment. BlackStar. Weapon of planetary destruction. Developed & used by the United Commonwealth of Planets (UCP) & later by the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Blurgiss. The Blurgiss race are the fourth largest race of the United Federation of Planets. Once hate throughout the known galaxy, they are now proud members of the UFP. Many other races still do not like them & some bickering takes place. Highly advanced in technology & intelligence. No longer interested in galactic domination. Has found being a member of the Federation very awarding even though they still are not well liked. Blurgiss race has green skin. Blurgiss Prime. Home planet of the Blurgiss race. Blurgiss Sector. That region of space that belonged to the Grand Republic prior to joining the United Federation of Planets. Blurmon. Location of third Blurgiss colony. Thoroughly vaporised to the last atom by BlackStar in 2110. No survivors. Blurqin. Location of second Blurgiss colony. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Blurviv. Location of first Blurgiss colony. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Braggah. Ex-slave race from the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Its troops are infamous for disobeying orders & causing trouble. Tough soldiers though; will die fighting rather than surrender. Buckhoo. Ex-slave race from the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Capital. Home planet & capital of the Zargah Empire (ZE). Although thought to have been eventually destroyed by BlackStar at the end of the Zargah War, it survived & is still the captial of the Zargah Empire. (CIP) or Coalition Sector. Region of space that belonged to the Coalition of Independent Planets prior to joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Clay. Ex-slave race from the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Cordah Imperium. Little contact has been made with this empire that is inward from the Zargah Empire. Diplomatic exchanges have taken place. One brief encounter during the First Zargah Civil War saw the Sparta class demonstrate Cordah limitations. The Cordah are about 400 years behind Federation standard. Cousins. Pre-industrial planet Humans discovered in 2029. It is similar to Sierra. It is declared a protectorate & forms part of the Peace Protection Zone (PPZ). Destroyed by indiginous population during a horrific self imposed nuclear war. D1. Dead Planet 1 discovered by Humans in 2003. It is the headquarters for Next Generation Weapons/Warships (NGW). Highly industrialised for weapons & ship construction. D2 - D10. Numerous dead planets discovered in the Military Restriction Zone (MRZ). Some are rehabilitated back to Earth like planets & colonised. D9. Location of BlackStar test. Drey Sector. Region of space belonging to the Drey Central prior to prior to joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Discovery. Extreme long range scout ship. Discovery 2. Much improved version of Discovery Dragon Class. Battleship class built from captured Zargah technology. Class leader commissioned in 2224. The class ensures victory against the Zargah. Drey. Home planet to a race of the same name. Highly organised, tolerant & mostly peaceful. Not overly adventurous. Advanced in technology & industries. Developed Magnetic Space Warp Drive (MSWD) through their own research. Drey have green skin. Rimward of the Vargary. Humans made first contact with them in 2039. Member of various treaties with Humans since. Fifth largest race of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Duel. Small Earth like planet discovered by Humans in 2034. It orbits one small sun which in turn orbits a much large one. Small population due to high background radiation & the insanity condition commonly referred to as Looney Duel Toons. Commonwealth Health Commission (CHC) research on Duel has developed extremely successful treatments for cancers. Furthermore, the successful planet rehabilitation program had its origins from studies conducted on Duel. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Duplack. First colony of the Drey. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Earth. Home planet to Human race. Capital of various regimes over the centuries. Lost the capital of the United Federation of Planets early in the history of the Federation. Remained the economic, social & cultural powerhouse of the Federation. Billions of inhabitants. Extremely diverse in industry, culture, traditions & academia. Very prosperous as a result. Regained chief political power of the Federation in 2942, when the various independent governments of Earth finally became a single, albeit federated, central government. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Eden. Earth like planet discovered by Humans in 1989. Colonised by Humans year later. Quickly grows to rival Earth in population size & prosperity. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Enigma2. Technology that decodes about 50% of coded signals intercepted. Has about a 25 light year range. Essence Ancients. An ancient race at least 1 million years older than Humans, they are highly advanced in all things. They are a rather authoritarian society & find Human freedom & democracy appalling. Furthermore, after they discover that Humans have taken MMD technology from their old home planet of Essence, they begin a long & enduring war. They threaten to eraditcate the Human race & their allies for what they have done. In doing so, they eventually alienate themselves, not only from all the known "junior" races, but from the other Ancient races as well. What their eventual fate was is unknown. Evduc. Region of space controlled by the Freedom Federation prior to joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Fin. Planet similar to Omega discovered further along the galactic rim by Humans in 2130. It is rich in scarce minerals & elements. Home planet to the Finites. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Finites. Originally members of the Zargah race left stranded in the United Federation of Planets after the Zargah War. Settled on the planet Fin. They have kept little of their origins & are proud Federation citizens. First Contact. First occasion when contact is made between races & communication is attempted. Gollare. The vast expanse of space inward of the Neutral Zone between the United Federation of Planet & the Zargah Empire. At its widest point, it is some 500 light years across. Location of several Independent worlds. Hippa. Ex-Honour Citizen race. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Honour Citizens. Second Class citizens with special privileges of the old Blurgiss Empire. There were five such races. Hi-Lang-Ja Sector. Region of space that belonged to the Hi-Lang-Ja Republic before joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Human. Young race originating on Earth. Jokingly referred to by the Vargary as enlightened barbarians. Highly advanced in technology, industry, culture & academia. Impatient, adventurous, adaptable & above all contradictory, Humans have spread out across know space in their billions. They did not develop Magnetic Space Warp Drive (MSWD) themselves, but gained it from captured Blurgiss technology. They are an unknown equation in all things: they can champion the most righteous noble causes, while nefariously destroying entire planets in the name of that cause. They established the Freedom Federation (FF) while liberating the slave races, settled the Morab & Kullon survivors on one of their planets named Phoenix, & are the main force behind the United Federation of Planets. Paradoxically they developed & used BlackStar, thereby obliterating billions of life forms. Billions of their race have been sacrificed to ensure their (& allies) continuing freedom. By far the largest race of the United Federation of Planets (UFP), with an estimated population of 40 billion (in 3000) scattered across the Federation. Invincible Class battlecruiser commissioned in 2213. Its mission from D1 NGW to Lyonies was the most important in the history of the United Defence Forces (UDF). The success of this mission ensured victory against the Zargah. Sadly the ship & its crew were lost when experimental weaponry destroyed the ship in 2214. Integration Period. A short period of time in United Federation of Planets (UFP) history at the end of the 23rd Century. This period of 13 short years from 2287-2299 witness a dramatic time of expansion for the UFP. Previous friends & enemies (Freedom Federation, Wazzen-Quotos Union, Hi-Lang-Ja Republic, Grand Republic, & the Coalition of Independent Planets) apply & are granted full membership to the UFP. Small sun in Earth's solar system created by NGW/UPX from the gas giant Jupiter. Lyonies. Home planet to a race of the same name. Very peaceful, honourable & polite race. Highly advanced in technology & industries. Developed Magnetic Space Warp Drive (MSWD) through their own research. General public are easily terrified by violence. Their armed forces are small. Their personnel must endure a long period of training to repress their natural fright of violence. As a result, their forces are the most disciplined & professional of any race. Humans made first contact with them in 2007. Member of various treaties with Humans since. Third largest race of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Lyonies Sector. Region of space controlled by the Lyonies Federation prior to joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Mars. 4th planet in Earth’s solar system. Once a colony with a small population, with heavy industries produce unlimited goods for trade. After Terraforming the planet, "Blue Mars" is capable of sustaining 2 billion inhabitants. One of two bases for the UDF 1st Home Fleet. (MDO), Millennium Drive One. A highly advanced warp drive that superseded the MSWD. (MMD), Multi-purpose Millennium Drive. Permitts time & warp drive travel. Requires a large amount of energy. Only certain types of ships can operated the MMD due to its energy needs. Morab. Refugee ex-slave race from the old Blurgiss Empire. Their home planet is dead. Survivors resettled on Phoenix. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Mother Sector. Region of space previously controlled by the United Commonwealth of Planets prior to the establishment of the United Federation of Planets (MSWD), Magnetic Space Warp Drive MRZ Sector. Area of the United Federation of Planets previously known as the Military Restriction Zone. Epsilon has its own Sector & is thus separate. Nazzdorra. A hybrid version of Tindorra & the Nazzernich "communications" device. Extremely accurate & powerful tracking system. Tracks the signal of any ship using their Multi-purpose Millennium Drive (MMD) engines. Nazzer Ancients. A mysterious race at least 1 million years old. Highly advanced in all things. Known to be the creators of the intellectual caste of the Nazzernich. Time travel capable. Known to use organic ships. Nazzernich. Race from the planet of the same name. The name means "Sons of the Nazzer". They have their own Union of five planets. The society has two castes; a worker & an intellectual one. The intellectual caste has been gene modified by the Nazzer Ancients. Neutral Zone. Area of space between the United Federation of Planets & the Zargah Empire bordering Honshu Sector on the UFP side. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Second Age/Era, The. A period of human history of significant achievements. Conjunctionally dated 1945 - 2250. Many historians argue 1982-2300. The Humans & their allies, the Vargary, Lyonies & Drey, suffered great hardship while achieving a united, free & prosperous federation. But these few centuries belonged to the Humans. It was they that ensured our future. Their efforts & sacrifices were the foundation of our current civilisation - The Federal Galactic Commonwealth of Planets. Sierra. Second habitable planet discovered by Humans in 1992. Although somewhat arid, millions of Humans populate it. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Tindorra. Acronym for Time-version Intelligent Network Detection Of Radioactive Re-Analysis. An extremely accurate tracking system. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Vargary Prime. Home planet to the Vargary. Reasonable, humorous & mostly peaceful race. Individuality is important to them. Diverse in culture & academia. Respond to both emotional reactions as much as logical argument. Developed Magnetic Space Warp Drive (MSWD) through their own research. Highly advanced in technology & industry. Humans made first contact in 1995. They have been loyal allies ever since. Human culture has made a large impact upon theirs, especially in the field of literature. Shakespeare is as popular with the Vargary as with Humans. The Vargary Shakespeare Company is considered equal by many with the Royal Shakespeare Company of Earth. They have a noted long hatred, however, towards the insect known as the cockroach from Earth & the "king cochroaches of the all - the Zargah". Only recently have they changed their attitude towards the Zargah. They are the second largest race of the United Federation of Planets numbering some 18 billion (in 3000). They, like the Humans, can be found in most parts of the Federation. They share similar features to Humans, except in average height, eyes & feet. Vargary Sector. Region of space controlled by the Vargary Federation prior to the establishment of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Victory Class. UDF battleship class built from captured Zargah technology. Extraordinary improvement in weaponry. Variant of the Invincible class battlecruisers. Vulnerable from rear attack. War-Station. Code name applied to enormous space vessel operated by Saviour. It is the size of Earth’s moon & has unprecedented firepower. It was discovered by presidential historian Bryan Garren that the War-Station was actually a Sparta Class warship. Wazzen. Ex-Honour Citizen race of the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Wongon. Ex-slave race from the planet of the same name. Member of the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Wazzen-Quotos Sector, Region of space that was controlled by the Wazzan-Quotos Union prior to joining the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Zargah. Once thought of as a nefarious race located more than 1000 light years from Earth. After destroying Discovery 2 in 2180 at first contact, the Zargah launch a dreadful war against the United Federation of Planets (UFP). After the Zargah War, diplomatic relations developed over an 800 year period to that of trusted allies. Zargah Civil War, First. A period of up heaval in the Zargah Empire that saw the Lords & Commoners rebel against the Zell Royal Household who refused political reforms. The Royal Throne was then awarded to the Shazon Royal Household who had fought with the rebels. Political reforms sweeped in a newera for the Zargah Empire. Zargah Civil War, Second. An attempted coup by Duke Zellon to retake the Royal Throne for the Zell Household. The Shazon Household succeeds in defeating the Zellon forces with assistance from the United Federation of Planets (UFP). Zellon. Rebel Zargah forces of the Second Zargah Civil War. Their name comes from Duke Zellon who wanted to be Emperor. He was a direct descendant of the disposed Emperor of the Zell Household.
