Communism
looks Good (Part 1) The Soviet Union invades Europe in 1940. April 1st
1940,
The Soviet Union (SU) invades Poland. The Germans are
shocked but turn to face the new enemy. April 5th
1940,
The SU quickly takes the cities of Zamosc and Chelm.
The SU starts feeling German resistance. April 7th
1940,
The SU continue a quick advance
and are only a few kilometers away from Lublin. The SU starts facing heavy
resistance from the Germans. Hitler puts Speer in control of German war economy. April 11th
1940,
The SU reach the border of Lublin.
They face 50,000 German infantry and 200 panzers. The SU had 100,000 soldiers
and 500 tanks. April 13th
1940,
The SU lose a ton of soldiers at an incredible rate
but are steadily pushing into the city. Three Soviet Divisions continue north of
Lublin to the city of Siedice.
They also meet heavy resistance. April 15th
1940,
The SU claims victory in both Lublin and Siedice with
in an hour of each other. The SU suffer a staggering 400,000 deaths in the two
campaigns. The SU continue the attack towards Radom
and Warsaw. Meanwhile two infantry divisions with a few tanks bust through the
city of Ciechanow,
which is north of the Polish capital. April 16th
1940,
The SU is forced to stop towards Warsaw as the Germans
mass all their armor in the city. Instead the Soviet Divisions head south while
the division in Ciechanov
heads south to meet with the south flank. April 17th
1940,
Most of the German army pulls out of Warsaw (against
Hitler’s permission) with almost all heavy equipment as the Soviets pinch
Warsaw from supplies. 35,000 German soldiers and 150 tanks are captured in the
pocket. April 18th
1940,
The Germans surrender in the Warsaw pocket, which
makes the Soviets advance west continue. They head in 3 directions. The South
Division to capture Kielce and then Krakow, the Central Division to head for
Lodz and then Poznan, and the Northern Division to capture the Polish corridor
and East Prussia. April 20th
1940,
The Germans (without Hitler’s approval) pull back to
more defendable positions. The SU capture Kielce and Lodz but are facing heavy
resistance in Olsztyn. April 22nd
1940, The Germans pressure Hitler to put in a full German war economy under Speer. The SU is in the city of Olsztyn but are
dieing by the thousands. April 23rd
1940,
The SU push Germany out of Olsztyn and reach the
cities of Krakow, Poznan and Torun. French bring more tanks to the German
border. Hitler very scared of a two front war wants to talk peace to the West.
The French want to attack but the British agree to a peace talk for April 21st
in Paris. The French reluctantly agree. April 25th
1940,
The SU have suffered a million lives now but are
getting stronger as more men are entering battle and soldiers are getting more
experience. The SU have taken Krakow and Poznan but are stalling in Torun. The
SU in the north capture the city of Elblag. The Germans are running low on tanks
so Hitler finally agrees to put Speer in total control of the economy. April 27th
1940,
The SU reaches Gdansk and the German border. The
Germans talk peace to France and Britain, also asking to help the Germans fight
the aggressive communists stating if Germany falls to SU, so will France and
Britain. The British agree when Hitler guarantees Poland independence (Hitler is
lying of course but Chamberlain does not know this) while France thinks and
eventually agrees. The War is now Capitalists of the west Vs Stalin and the
communists (I personally feel Stalin was fascist no matter what others think).
Stalin’s worst fears come true. He thought France and Britain would be happy
he attacked to spare them from Hitler but they turned on him. What’s worst for
Stalin is Japan is not sure if they should head North into the SU, or south for
oil. April 29th
1940,
The SU captures the rest of Poland and East Prussia.
The campaign into Germany’s heartland begins with a major attack in Austria
and a major attack towards Berlin. April 30th
1940,
The SU reach Breslau, Germany with appalling loses,
reaching 650,000 lives lost in the war so far. The French and British start
shipping some tanks and planes to Germany. The SU starts facing problems when
Polish people in Poland disrupt supply lines. The Germans plan a counter attack
at Berlin so let the Soviets get closer. May 1st
1940,
Stalin gets word that his army is 3 km from Berlin and
Stalin thinking that Germany is defeated tells his remaining Generals that
survived the purges to attack Berlin and capture it by May 4th. May 2nd
1940,
The SU have penetrated deep into Berlin when the
Germans launch a counter attack. In the initial stages the Germans almost push
the SU out of Berlin but the Soviets fight hard and stop the counter attack
cold, and push deep into Berlin once again. The losses of the day is Germany-
4,500 dead, 1500 tanks destroyed, 500 planes down; The SU- 45,000 dead, 900
tanks destroyed, 300 planes down. The SU starts production of the famed T-34. May 4th
1940,
The SU finally push Germany out of Berlin but Hitler
decides to flee to Paris where he states all Germans fight the SU invaders.
Instead, because Hitler fled, meaning the battle was lost; the Germans put down
their guns and surrender to the Soviets. May 10th
1940,
Winston Churchill gets power in Britain. May 12th
1940,
The French and British prepare for the Soviets without
going into Germany. The SU capture the last pockets of German resistance (those
who were loyal to Hitler including Goering, Hess, and Himmler) and the rest of
Germany. 200 T-34’s are ready for battle. May 14th
1940,
Operation Zealot, the invasion of France, Netherlands,
Belgium, and Luxemburg is started with 2 million Soviets, 200 T-34’s and 5000
additional tanks, plus 5000 planes. Facing them is 4000 tanks, 3000 planes, and
approximately 900,000 soldiers. May 15th
1940,
The SU is smarter than France, Britain and Germany
thought and they hit through the north of France (They thought the SU would
attack the Maginot Line). The Allies still meet them head on in Brussels.
Netherlands and Luxemburg surrender. May 17th
1940, The SU hit Brussels with a lot of soldiers but because they stretched their supply lines so far, the Soviets can’t do much more than attack with little ammunition. The Allies start pushing the Soviets out of Belgium but very slowly and they know that a slow push will cost them.
